We’re proud to announce that Pete Gunson has been appointed as the Chairman of Buckley Town FC.
Following their decision, the club made the following statement:
“We were lucky enough to have a couple of potential candidates but at the end it was clear to us that Pete Gunson was the best choice to take on the role of Chairman. He has a very strong record in both managing and chairing a business, PPA Limited. For the past 20 years this business has been supplying the Aerospace and Automotive sectors, primarily Business Jets, but also the Commercial and Military Aerospace industries. Pete has a deep understanding of Buckley Town’s operations through his experience years ago where he was manager at Hawarden Rangers Under 7’s through to Under 14’s. Furthermore he was also on their Executive Committee. Later he similarly was Assistant Manager at Buckley JFC for the Under 15 season. Pete as a parent, with a son playing football for Buckley Town FC, has a strong empathy with our ethos, culture and commitment to becoming one of the best community football clubs in North East Wales. We are delighted that he has accepted the role.”
Commenting on his appointment, Pete Gunson said:
“Throughout my time as a supporter of Buckley Town Football Club, I have admired the ever growing strength of the football club in its ground improvements and its mission statement to be a community football club. I strongly endorse the common values shared throughout the committee and management team and its consistent focus on putting community football first with its long-term aim to integrate with Buckley Town Juniors and obtain the necessary licence to progress into tier 2 and 1 of Welsh football. It will be an honour to become Chairman of this great, well-established football club, and I look forward to it continuing to deliver on its long-term strategy.”
Everyone here at PPA wishes Buckley Town FC, and of course it’s new Chairman, the best of luck for 2018!
