PPA Group, a leading aircraft interiors specialist, has invested in the installation of a state-of-the-art clean room at its manufacturing facility in Deeside, North Wales.
This £40,000 investment will allow the company to manufacture and repair a range of products, including composites and moulded components in a low particulates environment.
The new facility will enable technicians to effectively and accurately control temperature, humidity and air pressure.
The clean room operates in accordance with ISO Class 7 standards, which meets with the stringent quality requirements of the aerospace industry and gives PPA the ability to manufacture and assemble numerous components, such as aircraft windscreens, windows and composite parts without the risk of foreign object contamination.
PPA Group’s Managing Director, Pete Gunson, has been particularly impressed by the quality of the clean room, which was installed by Connect 2 Cleanrooms.
Commenting on this investment, he said: “We are proud to operate in accordance with the aviation industry’s most stringent of quality standards and it is because of this commitment that we enjoy long-term relationships with clients operating across the entire transportation industry.
“This investment will enable us to mitigate the risk of external contamination when completing sensitive or regulated projects for the aerospace, marine and automotive sectors.”
